COMMON QUERIES

All the Answers You Seek, In One Place

Is EMDR appropriate for me?

EMDR may be helpful if past experiences continue to affect your emotions, relationships, self-esteem, or daily life. During your consultation and early sessions, we will discuss whether EMDR fits your needs and goals.

Do I have to describe every detail of my trauma?

No. EMDR does not require you to share every detail of what happened. You only need to share what feels necessary, and you remain in control throughout the process.

Do you offer in-person and telehealth sessions?

No. I only offer secure telehealth sessions throughout Washington State.

What happens during the consultation?

The consultation is a brief opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, what you hope to work on, and whether my approach may be a good fit. You are also welcome to ask questions about EMDR, scheduling, insurance, or the therapy process.

How does insurance work?

I accept most major insurance plans. Coverage varies, so I recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm your benefits, deductible, copay, and whether I am in network with your specific plan.

What if I’m unsure whether my experiences “count” as trauma?

Trauma is not defined only by what happened, it is also about how the experience affected you. You do not need to prove that your experiences were “bad enough” to deserve support.

How frequently will we meet?

Most clients meet weekly, particularly when beginning EMDR. Depending on your needs, goals, and availability, we may also discuss meeting more frequently or transitioning to less frequent sessions over time.
